• Telling the time (mấy giờ?)
  Ask the time with 'Mấy giờ rồi?'. Answer with [number] giờ, then the minutes, rưỡi for half past, or kém for 'to'. Add sáng or tối to mark AM or PM.
  Bây giờ là bảy giờ rưỡi. : It is half past seven now.
• Tense markers đã, đang, sẽ
  Vietnamese verbs never change for tense. Add a marker before the verb instead: đã for the past, đang for right now, sẽ for the future. They are optional when a time word already makes the tense clear.
  Ngày mai em sẽ đi Hà Nội. : Tomorrow I will go to Hà Nội.
• Frequency words like thường and luôn luôn
  Put a frequency word right before the main verb: luôn luôn (always), thường (usually), thỉnh thoảng (sometimes), ít khi (rarely), không bao giờ (never).
  Tôi thường dậy lúc 6 giờ sáng. : I usually get up at 6 AM.
